High-Voltage Power Transformers for Sale

J&J supplies high-voltage power transformers for generation, receiving substations, industrial facilities and data-center power systems. Review actual winding ratings and the controlling project specification. The public equipment records span multiple voltage classes, including 115, 138, 161, 230, 345 and 525 kV; a voltage-class search is the start of a technical match, not evidence that every unit serves the same application.

Browse high-voltage transformer classes and ratios

Choose the required high-side class, then confirm the actual low-side and any tertiary winding. Each linked page describes its own equipment and application checks.

Rated voltage and BIL answer different questions

The winding voltage identifies the operating rating. Basic impulse insulation level, or BIL, is part of the insulation specification. Request insulation values for the relevant windings, terminals and neutral and compare them with the project's required levels. A matching nominal kV value alone does not establish insulation compatibility.

Winding connection, grounding and tertiary duty

Confirm delta or wye connections, neutral access, phase displacement, tertiary voltage and usable tertiary MVA. A 13.8 kV tertiary on an autotransformer is not automatically a 13.8 kV main-load supply. The project engineer must approve the intended winding duty and grounding arrangement.

Review taps, impedance and the protection interface

Compare OLTC and de-energized tap equipment, tap range and steps, impedance and its stated MVA base, frequency, terminal arrangements and protection requirements. Include breaker voltage and fault duty in the system review; transformer and breaker procurement should use the same project basis.

Common questions

Written quotes and supporting records control unit-specific ratings, availability, condition, price, and delivery.

Where can I buy high-voltage transformers?

J&J Transformers LLC supplies high-voltage power transformer opportunities with unit-specific records. Compare the public voltage and MVA ratings, then contact Tommy for the technical package, price and current availability.

Will any 230 kV transformer fit a 230 kV project?

No. Low-side voltage, winding connections, MVA duty, insulation levels, taps, grounding, impedance, protection and physical interfaces also need to match.

Can a 525 kV unit serve a 500 kV system?

The Royal SMIT record states a 525 kV winding rating. The project engineer must review the system voltage, taps, insulation, protection and required operating duty before accepting it for a 500 kV project.
