MV switchgear quotations need the complete lineup
Provide the rated system voltage and equipment class, continuous bus current, short-circuit and interrupting requirements, and the required construction. Identify incomers, ties and feeders individually so the breaker, relay, metering and control scope is clear.
| Required input | What to identify |
|---|---|
| Voltage and frequency | Actual system voltage, equipment voltage class and 50/60 Hz requirement |
| Bus and fault ratings | Continuous current, interrupting duty, short-time/withstand basis and project standard |
| Lineup and devices | Main/tie/feeder count, breaker type, CT/VT arrangement, metering and protection |
| Controls and interfaces | Control power, interlocks, transfer sequence, communication and cable/bus entry |
| Physical and acceptance scope | Indoor/outdoor enclosure, dimensions, access, shipping splits, drawings, tests and required listing |
Eaton XGIS and project-specified switchgear construction
The existing OEM programme includes Eaton Power Xpert XGIS gas-insulated medium-voltage switchgear review. Metal-clad, metal-enclosed, air-insulated and other specified requirements must be matched to a quoted product and factory design; these labels do not establish identical ratings or interchangeable construction.
Do not carry a 4000A low-voltage switchboard requirement into an MV product claim without checking the exact design. The selected model, bus and breaker ratings, manufacturing entity and required certification evidence are confirmed for each lineup.
Bulk switchgear orders for phased data-center and substation projects
For multiple buildings or substations, send lineup tags and quantities by phase. Highlight repeated designs, required identical spares, approved manufacturers and whether the lineups can be delivered in separate shipping sections. Define the transformer and cable interfaces before releasing the complete equipment group.
Nine-week OEM delivery target and fast-release inventory
J&J targets nine weeks for qualifying new OEM equipment, including pad-mounted and dry-type transformers from 500 to 10,000 kVA, switchgear and breakers. The target includes manufacturing, agreed factory testing and shipping to the quoted destination after PO, approved drawings and production release. The factory confirms the configuration, quantity, production slot and site-arrival date in the written quotation. Large high-voltage power transformers have a separate unit-specific release and delivery schedule.
- OEM nine-week target, production release and delivered scope
- Existing transformer and power-equipment opportunities
| Supply route | Equipment scope | Delivery basis |
|---|---|---|
| Existing equipment | Documented new/unused, surplus, used or rebuilt transformer opportunities | Confirm the actual unit, allocation, inspection, preparation and transport before accepting the arrival date |
| New OEM programme | 500-10,000 kVA padmount and dry-type requirements, switchgear, breakers and quoted related equipment | Target nine weeks for qualifying configurations; factory slot, quantity and destination confirmed in the quotation |
| Large high-voltage transformers | High-MVA substation and GSU units, replacements and manufacturing positions | Individual written schedule; the nine-week distribution-equipment target does not set the schedule for a large power transformer |

Common questions
Written quotes and supporting records control unit-specific ratings, availability, condition, price, and delivery.
Where can I request medium-voltage switchgear for sale?
Contact J&J Transformers LLC for a project-specific MV switchgear quotation. Send the one-line, voltage class, bus and fault ratings, protection schedule, quantity and destination to tommy@jjtransformers.com.
Is a nine-week switchgear lead time available?
J&J targets nine weeks for qualifying new OEM lineups after PO, approved drawings and production release. The factory confirms the product, complete configuration, quantity, allocation and arrival date in writing.
Can you supply several identical switchgear lineups?
J&J accepts multi-lineup and phased-volume requests. Identify each lineup tag, quantity, required identical components, spares and phase date so production and shipment can be quoted clearly.
Is MV switchgear the same as a 4000A low-voltage switchboard?
No. Voltage class, construction, protection and interrupting requirements differ. Define MV switchgear and LV switchboards as separate equipment groups on the one-line and quotation.
Can I request breakers with the switchgear lineup?
Yes. Include the breaker schedule, control power, protection and spare-device requirements. For an existing cubicle or retrofit, provide exact manufacturer, model and compatibility documentation.
