Transformers and Generation Equipment for Oil and Gas Facilities

J&J Transformers LLC sells and sources transformers, generators, turbines, and related electrical infrastructure for oil and gas, refining, pipeline, processing, and industrial facilities. Each request is screened for electrical duty, hazardous-location and site requirements, environment, reliability, condition, documentation, freight, standards, and schedule; no universal compliance claim is applied to sourced equipment.

Where are transformers used in oil and gas facilities?

Transformers may serve utility interconnection, substations, large motors, compressors, pumps, processing trains, pipeline stations, auxiliary systems, modular plants, emergency systems, and onsite generation. The one-line, motor/load data, fault duty, environment, grounding, reliability and area-classification interfaces control selection.

What must an oil and gas transformer RFQ include?

Provide kVA/MVA, HV/LV/tertiary, phase/frequency, BIL, impedance and basis, vector/grounding, taps, cooling/fluid, motor and harmonic loads, enclosure, ambient/altitude, corrosion/environment, sound, fire strategy, terminals, site/area requirements, tests, documents, redundancy and need date.

Can generators or turbines support oil and gas operations?

Yes when the prime mover, electrical generator, fuel, emissions, hazardous-area interfaces, auxiliaries, controls, switchgear, GSU/distribution, black start, site rating, maintenance, and operating duty match. A turbine or engine listing is not a complete power plant by itself.

How should used equipment be evaluated for an industrial site?

Verify identity, original duty, condition, maintenance, faults, tests, controls/obsolescence, hazardous-location suitability of relevant components, emissions configuration, completeness, preservation, transport, installation changes, documentation and warranty/support. The project engineer and AHJ approve use.

Does every oil and gas transformer meet IEEE and IEC requirements?

No blanket statement is valid. The purchaser specification should identify the applicable current IEEE or IEC parts, NEC/NFPA and site requirements, area classifications, utility rules and tests. Each offered unit needs documentary evidence for the standards claimed.

Applicable standards, listings, tests, and efficiency requirements are confirmed for each quoted unit; naming a standard is not a certification claim.

Can plant owners submit decommissioned electrical assets?

Yes. Submit owner/authority, facility and equipment location, OEM/model/serial, ratings, condition, operating/removal status, contamination/environmental information, photos, records, dismantlement/loading boundaries, inspection access and commercial expectations through the seller form.

Frequently asked questions

These answers explain the procurement and application questions buyers ask most often. Unit-specific ratings, availability, conformity, condition, price, and delivery are controlled by the written quotation and supporting documents.

What transformers are used in oil and gas facilities?

Substation/power, distribution, pad-mounted, dry-type, auxiliary and generator step-up units may be used based on the one-line and site duty.

Can used transformers serve a refinery or pipeline project?

Potentially, after technical, condition, documentation, site, hazardous-area interface, test, transport and owner/AHJ review.

Does J&J repair or rewind transformers?

J&J does not publish a blanket in-house repair or rewind claim. Any quoted shop scope identifies the responsible qualified provider, tests, commercial boundary, and written warranty source.

Can J&J source onsite generators?

Yes, after output, duty, fuel, voltage, emissions, enclosure, site, controls and schedule are defined.

Can a gas turbine be quoted with a GSU?

Yes when the included electrical generator’s MVA, voltage, frequency, PF/reactive capability and interconnection duty are known.

What environmental information is needed?

Ambient/altitude, corrosion, dust, humidity, temperature, area classification interfaces, fire strategy and site/AHJ requirements.

Can J&J buy decommissioned plant equipment?

Owners and authorized representatives can submit assets; transaction interest depends on identity, condition, evidence, demand, location and removal scope.

Are standards guaranteed by equipment type?

No. Conformity is verified from the exact model/serial documents and project requirements.
