J&J supplies large power transformers for utilities, industrial projects, generation and data centers. The candidates below have at least one published main nameplate rating of 100 MVA or more; that does not establish the usable rating for every operating duty. Compare all cooling stages and winding limits, then confirm current condition, technical fit, allocation and the complete delivery scope in writing.
Start with the public ratings below. Call or email Tommy for current availability, pricing, photos and the technical package. Each unit needs project-specific engineering review and remains subject to prior sale.
A multi-stage nameplate can state different MVA ratings for different cooling arrangements. Confirm the required continuous duty, temperature-rise basis, available cooling equipment, auxiliaries and site conditions. State which rating is required rather than selecting the largest number on the nameplate.
Step-up and step-down duty can have different limits
The Royal SMIT 525/69 kV record illustrates why duty matters: it lists 240/320/400 MVA cooling stages, while the stated maximum step-down duty is 250 MVA. The 400 MVA figure must not be used as a 400 MVA step-down offer. Apply the same winding and duty review to every large transformer.
What belongs in a large transformer purchase specification?
Provide the main and tertiary winding voltages and duties, MVA stages, connections, frequency, insulation levels, impedance and its base, tap requirements, cooling and monitoring requirements, quantity and project schedule. Review outline drawings, terminal positions and the unit's supporting test records.
Request shipping dimensions and weights, oil and accessory shipping configuration, loading arrangements, transport scope and the receiving-site offloading plan. Separate unit release, preparation, shipment, arrival and energization dates. Agree on responsibilities in the quotation instead of assuming freight or a crane is included.
Large power transformer price and availability
Price depends on the exact unit, condition, included accessories, documentation, inspection, preparation and delivery scope. Send your one-line or specification and required site date for a comparable quotation. Listings remain subject to prior sale; a record-review date does not reserve a unit.
Common questions
Written quotes and supporting records control unit-specific ratings, availability, condition, price, and delivery.
Does J&J supply 100 MVA and larger transformers?
J&J publishes large transformer records with main nameplate stages at or above 100 MVA. Usable duty, winding limits, condition, current allocation and delivery are confirmed for the exact unit and application.
Is the highest MVA rating the continuous rating I can use?
Only if the stated cooling arrangement, temperature-rise basis, winding duty and required auxiliaries support that rating under the approved project conditions. Review the complete nameplate and engineering requirements.
Can I use a GSU transformer as a step-down transformer?
Do not assume interchangeability. The responsible engineer must review winding duty, any direction-specific limits, connections, grounding, taps, impedance, insulation and protection against the project specification.
