What must match before an existing GSU can serve a different generator or grid point?

The project team’s engineers should compare generator MVA and terminal voltage, grid voltage, frequency, winding connection and phase displacement, grounding, impedance and base, BIL, taps, cooling, losses, terminals, protection interfaces, physical arrangement, accessories, condition, transport state, and available test records. A matching MVA headline is not enough.

What belongs in a decision-ready power-plant equipment package?

Request serial-specific nameplates, final drawings, certified factory tests when available, condition and preservation evidence, dimensions and weights, oil or shipping state, accessory lists, maintenance history for previously operated equipment, seller authority, inspection rights, location, freight boundaries, commercial terms, and written availability. Missing items should be listed as open, not assumed.

Why can represented equipment still require schedule work?

An existing unit can avoid a new manufacturing cycle, but identity checks, engineering deviations, inspection, any agreed testing, disassembly, oil handling, heavy-haul routing, permits, site foundations, accessories, assembly, commissioning, and utility or owner acceptance may still control the in-service date.

Can power plants and IPPs offer complete spare or project-released equipment directly?

Yes. Owners and parties with written transfer authority may submit factory-built equipment released by canceled, deferred, redesigned, repowered, or completed projects; unused owner spares; and documented operational equipment suitable for reuse. Submit authority, identity, ratings, location, condition, records, included scope, loading responsibility, timing, and commercial expectations.
