Start with the load and required battery runtime
UPS capacity and battery runtime answer different purchase questions. Eaton's sizing guidance considers both the connected load and the time it must be supported. Give the required kW and kVA, load basis, voltage and runtime together; a capacity label alone does not establish the battery package.
| Input | What the proposed package should address |
|---|---|
| Load and power | Required kW/kVA, input/output voltage, phase, frequency and expected growth. |
| Runtime and batteries | Runtime at the stated load, battery technology, cabinets, connections and environmental requirements. |
| Architecture | N, N+1 or other project requirement; module quantities; bypass and operating modes. |
| Site and acceptance | Footprint, access, connections, monitoring, required tests, listing evidence and documentation. |
Make batteries, bypass and monitoring explicit
Request an equipment schedule that identifies the UPS, battery cabinets, bypass equipment and monitoring components separately. Mark each item as included, excluded or awaiting confirmation before comparing UPS system prices.
Eaton describes maintenance-bypass arrangements that allow the UPS to be taken out of the power path for service. State the required bypass function and source arrangement on your one-line; do not assume an internal bypass includes all external maintenance equipment. Also identify who supplies battery interconnections, protection, network interfaces and any site commissioning.
Quote the required operating arrangement
An N+1 request should describe the load and the operating conditions your project design must support. Identify the number of modules, expected growth, source boundaries and maintenance requirements. The responsible project engineer approves the final architecture and equipment match.
Planning example: for two critical-load blocks, keep each block's required load and runtime on its own line, alongside the proposed UPS quantity, battery boundary and bypass reference. Ask for the model-specific runtime basis rather than treating two identical capacity labels as proof of identical performance. This is a procurement format, not a battery-sizing calculation or confirmed package.
9–11 week OEM delivery target with DDP
The 9–11 week delivery target covers all listed OEM equipment, including transformers through 10 MVA / 10,000 kVA. This total window includes manufacturing, factory testing and shipping to the customer’s site. It starts after PO, approved drawings and the agreed commercial production release. The quotation confirms configuration, quantity, factory allocation, destination and the arrival date.
DDP is included in the confirmed quotation: agreed freight, import clearance and applicable import duties to the named delivery point. Offloading, installation, field testing and commissioning are separate unless expressly included. Equipment above 10 MVA has a separately reviewed schedule.
Send Tommy your equipment requirement
Email tommy@jjtransformers.com or call Tommy Marco at 346-276-9540. Send required kW/kVA, voltage, load and runtime, battery and bypass scope, redundancy plan, destination and required date.
J&J Transformers LLC is your independent equipment supplier. The written offer identifies the manufacturer, model, manufacturing entity, required compliance evidence, warranty terms and included equipment. Existing new, unused and pre-owned inventory is reviewed separately from these new-build requests.
UPS equipment quotation and runtime requirements
For industrial UPS systems for sale, specify required kW and kVA, input/output voltage, topology, redundancy and runtime. Identify whether the request includes UPS modules, bypass equipment, batteries, cabinets, controls and commissioning support.
- Confirm battery chemistry, age/condition, configuration and the runtime basis required by the project.
- Request compatibility, drawings, maintenance records and the actual included components; a UPS power rating alone does not establish runtime.
Common questions
Written quotes and supporting records control unit-specific ratings, availability, condition, price, and delivery.
Can J&J quote Eaton UPS systems with batteries?
Yes. Submit the UPS and battery requirement together. The quotation identifies the manufacturer, model, battery configuration, bypass equipment, included components and confirmed supply schedule.
Does a UPS kVA rating tell me its battery runtime?
No. Runtime depends on the stated load and the selected battery configuration. Request supporting runtime data for the proposed model and package rather than choosing from the capacity label alone.
Can I request an N+1 UPS package?
Yes. Send the load, module and source requirements, maintenance conditions and required operating arrangement. The supplier offer identifies the proposed equipment; your project team reviews whether the complete design meets the requirement.
Are bypass equipment and commissioning included in the UPS price?
Only when expressly included. Ask for an itemized package with internal and external bypass scope, batteries, connections, monitoring, testing and commissioning responsibilities. Compare all offers on the same basis.
Does a UPS kVA rating tell me the available battery runtime?
No. Runtime depends on the load and the documented battery configuration and condition. State required kW/kVA, runtime, voltage, redundancy, bypass and battery requirements, then confirm the actual quoted system and its documentation.
