What changes a pad-mounted transformer quotation?
Start with the electrical specification, then compare construction, records and commercial scope. Two transformers with the same kVA can have different voltage ratios, terminations, protection, accessories and acceptance requirements.
| Input | What to compare in the quote |
|---|---|
| Electrical configuration | kVA, primary and secondary voltage, phase, frequency, connection, taps and impedance requirement |
| Cable and protection interfaces | Dead-front or live-front, loop or radial feed, connector details, switch and fuse or interrupter scope |
| Build and site requirements | Fluid, winding specification, enclosure, accessories, losses, sound and controlling project requirements |
| Condition and evidence | New build, unused surplus or used condition; records, inspection and agreed testing |
| Commercial scope | Quantity, payment milestones, warranty terms, loading, freight, offloading and delivery milestone |
Request prices for 500, 1500, 2500 or 3000 kVA padmounts
J&J accepts 500–10,000 kVA pad-mounted transformer requirements, including 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 and 4000 kVA project requests. Give each voltage and construction group its own quantity and needed date. These inquiry sizes do not establish stock, a standard cabinet size or an available unit at every rating.
A 500 kVA price is not a dependable multiplier for a 2500 kVA or 3000 kVA quote. Compare actual offers for the required configuration. For a phased campus order, separate the first delivery from the full project total.
Equipment price versus delivered project cost
Mark every item as included, excluded or awaiting confirmation. An equipment-only offer may leave transport, receiving, field work or commissioning with the buyer. A quotation should state the delivery destination and the responsibilities attached to its price.
- Request a written accessory and document schedule for the exact unit or build.
- Confirm loading, freight, transport insurance and who supplies the unloading equipment.
- Identify inspection, testing, assembly and commissioning tasks and who pays for them.
- Record whether the offered date means ready for shipment or delivered to site.
- Review the warranty provider, start date, coverage and exclusions beside the price.
How to get a usable padmount price from J&J
Email tommy@jjtransformers.com or call Tommy Marco at 346-276-9540. Send kVA, voltages, phase, quantity, destination and required date first; include the one-line, specification and any connection drawings available. Identify open requirements so the quotation can state its assumptions and exceptions.
Common questions
Written quotes and supporting records control unit-specific ratings, availability, condition, price, and delivery.
How much does a pad-mounted transformer cost?
J&J provides a price for the specified configuration and offered equipment. Send kVA, voltages, phase, quantity, front/feed arrangement, destination and required date. This guide does not publish a universal price range.
Does a pad-mounted transformer quote include shipping and installation?
Only the written scope establishes that. Ask separately about loading, freight, offloading, installation, testing and commissioning, and identify the delivery milestone.
Can I compare new and used padmount transformer prices?
Yes, after matching the technical requirement and making condition, records, inspection, warranty and required work explicit. A lower purchase price does not establish a lower completed-project cost.
